About
Kasey Lafferty
I was born and raised in Canada in a small town outside of Toronto, Ontario. I graduated from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada in 2013 with a Master of Science degree in Couple and Family Therapy. I began practicing in both agency and private practice settings where I have extensive experience working with both individuals, couples and families.
I consider myself to be more of an eclectic therapist, in that I tailor my approach to what each client needs. I am trained in and comfortable working from the following therapy models: solution-focused, narrative, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), emotionally focused therapy (EFT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). I work from a client-centered approach and nonjudgemental stance. My role is not to judge you or tell you who is wrong/right; my role is to support you in finding solutions and developing skills and strategies to manage/overcome life's challenges.
I have a special interest in relational issues (communication, infidelity, parenting, divorce/separation, sexuality) as well as working with adolescents/families (identity, communication, conflict management, boundary setting, parenting).
I hold the credentials of:
-
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with the Board of Behavioral Sciences in California (LMFT# 124789)
-
Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario, Canada (Reg # 003198)
-
Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT) with the Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (Reg # 2017699)
-
Certified Couple and Family Therapist (CCFT) with the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (Reg # 139306)
-
Clinical Fellow with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (ID # 139306)
My fees for therapy are based on my credentials, years of experience and community standards. I accept payment in the form of Credit Cards, Venmo, and Zelle. I am not currently on any insurance panels, however I can provide you with a super bill to submit to your insurance for partial or full reimbursement.
